Postcard from Liguria

Vernazza, Italy

Vernazza, Italy

When dreaming up a tour/workshop like Italy Within The Frame, it is quite easy to imagine all the wonderful places, the photo opportunities, the delicious food, the captivating evening light, etc. However, when IWTF finally began I quickly realized that the best part had nothing to do with any of those aspects. The past part, by far, has been the participants; sharing the places, food, light, laughter, experiences with these amazing people has been an absolute joy. They’re an eclectic mix with stories that would make a screenwriter drool.

We have just a couple of days left in Liguria before some of us continue on to Venice. (Yes, for those wondering… I’ll be filling my jowls with focaccia al formaggio before departing Camogli.)

OK, I’m off to capture some light…

  1. I like the light in this scene and your low perspective. Sounds like fun and would love to have attended. I could add another twist to the many different stories of lifes journeys. Maybe some day.

Beutiful light. Is the motion in the lower left from the boat rocking? Or bit too much vino? :-)

I think the vino had you crawling on the cobbled streets, with camera in hand and still photographing. I’d title this one “Addictions” for all sorts of reasons but most of all because I LOVE IT!

  4. Maureen says:

I love it too and I am right there with you remembering the sights/sounds and the tastes of the wonderful food and wine. I will be there in spirit when you go to Venice too. Thanks for this beautiful photo

Hmm, while no wine was consumed in the production of this photo perhaps it played a role in its inspiration?

  6. Ahh…..the ultimate food for the soul is the companionship of others during times of challenge. For it is during these moments that we may be privileged to make bonds that will last a lifetime.

All the better in such a wonderful place!

  7. Very nice….the photos from this workshop have been wonderful.
